At Caribbean Tours we reaffirm our commitment to sustainability, not only through our certification process, but also through actions that generate a direct impact on local communities.
Recently, we facilitated a solidarity initiative to help Elsa Carballo González, a resident of El Rosario, Pinar del Río. Elsa is a mother of two children and has dedicated her life to caring for her family, especially her parents, who needed intensive care for many years due to serious health problems.
Current Situation:
The house where Elsa lives with her brother was partially destroyed by Hurricane Ian. The original brick structure and roof were severely damaged and cannot be repaired with the limited resources they have.
Thanks to the collaboration of a group of 15 female travelers, more than 6,000 USD was raised, which allowed them to buy the necessary materials to repair the roof and reinforce the walls. The repair work will begin soon with local labor.

Collaboration with Casa Prima:
This initiative was also supported by Casa Prima, a completely solar-powered project that promotes sustainability in the region. Our collaboration with Casa Prima reinforces our commitment to contribute not only to tourism development, but also to social well-being and environmental protection.
Facilitating our travelers’ encounters with local communities not only directly benefits people like Elsa, but also spiritually enriches those who visit us. We firmly believe that this type of conscious and collaborative tourism is the most beautiful way to travel.
