On this varied round trip you will visit the main sights of the Yucatan Peninsula.
The compact program of the classic Mexico tour gives you a perfect overview of the most beautiful landscapes and the varied history of Mexico. You visit the unique archaeological sites such as Monte Alban on the hill, Palenque in the jungle, Uxmal with a great view from the top and of course the world-famous one in Chichen Itza. Learn more about the different cultures and their stories during the visits. You will also visit impressive colonial cities such as Puebla, Oaxaca, San Cristóbal de las Casas, Campeche and Merida. Every city has its own flair and captivates you.
In between you can enjoy the flora and fauna, for example, during the boat trip through the Sumidero Canyon or during a refreshing swim in the most beautiful waterfalls in Mexico.

Pick up by tour guide. Transfer to colonial city of Puebla which features more than 70 churches and 1000 colonial buildings in historical center. En route we will visit the pyramid of Cholula, which is covered and looks like a hill with a church on top. In Puebla we will visit the Zocalco, the monumental Cathedral and Rosary Chapel. Continue to Oaxaca, another colonial jewel of Mexico. Late afternoon arrival in Oaxaca. Overnight in Oaxaca.
Visit of Oaxaca and surroundings. Short drive to Monte Albán built on a flattened hilltop overlooking the Oaxaca valley was for 2000 years the center of the Zapotecan and Mixtecan cultures. In the afternoon visit of Oaxaca including baroque church Santo Domingo and it monastery featuring regional museum. Overnight in Oaxaca.
Visit Mitla, “The City of the Dead”, its architecture is not monumental but exquisite, its stone mosaics are unique in the world; on the way you will also see the ancient Tule tree, approximately 2,000 years old, and one of the largest ones to be found anywhere on Earth. Afterwards drive over the Sierra Madre mountains to Tehuantepec.Overnight in Tehuantepec.
Transfer through subtropical landscape from the Isthmus of Mexico to the highlands of Chiapas. By noon arrival in Cahuare located on mighty Grijalva River. By boat we will visit the impressive Sumidero canyon with its over 1000 meter towering walls and 30 kilometer lengths. Afternoon drive to San Cristóbal de las Casas. Overnight in San Cristobal de las Casas.
Visit of San Cristóbal de las Casas; colonial and beautiful city with narrow streets, Spanish residencs, shady plazas. Visit the Indian market, the Temple of Santo Domingo and the amber museum. Afternoon visit of the Tzotzil towns of San Juan Chamula and Zinacantán. Evening free to enjoy the city. Overnight in San Cristobal de las Casas.
Transfer to lowland of Chiapas, to Palenque. En route visit of Mexico’s most beautiful waterfalls Agua Azul and the impressive falls Misol-Ha. Continue to Palenque. Overnight in Palenque.
Visit of the magical archaeological zone of Palenque built ad midst lush tropical forest. Admire the famous Temple of Inscriptions with the tomb of ruler Pakal. Explore the unique Palace with its characeristic observatory tower and the Temple of the Cross offering spectacular view over Palenque. Afternoon transfer to port city of Campeche on the Golf of Mexico. Overnight in Campeche.
City tour Campeche including its typical Baluartes (= Fortifications). Continue to Uxmal, once im-portant Mayan trading place. Visit the Pyramid of the Magician, Nunnery, Governors Palace. Afternoon transfer to Merida, state capital of Yucatan. Enjoy the lively colonial city in a walking tour around the Zocalo. Overnight in Merida.
Departure from Mérida to Chichen Itzá. Visit of the biggest and most visited Mayan Site Chichen Itza with its famous Kukulkan pyramid, Temple of the Warriors, Ball Court and Observatory. Continue to Cancun. End of services.
